Anyone here going this year? I bought tickets and was excited, then Yonder released their new album and I'm not so excited anymore, their new stuff isn't doing it for me :( Les and NMS are still a big draw, but... I dunno. I might just sell my tickets, as airfare prices keep going up too...

You need to get me that album Serk. I've only heard one song, but I like it. I can't imagine their shows changing all that much going forward...

I'd still be ready to go but with Sharon losing her job it might be out of reach at the moment.

Although I've enjoyed YMSB for a number of years now,
the few new songs I've heard so far just don't kick.

I went last time they did it, 2008, and it was almost Jam Cruise Awesome. Im not going this year cause the line-up is not a big enough draw for me but im hoping to go next year with Victoria. The set up is sweet, real cool venue. and of course Amsterdam is the shit. But the festival tickets are the cheapest thing about JITD. Air fare, rooms to stay for a week, food, pot, plus the god damn weak ass dollar will have you bending over every time you hit up the ATM. it is slightly better now but when i went every $250 euro costs me about $400 US. Still Totally Worth it

Save some money by:

Doing a short term rental (tons of apartments are available, or, if you really want to save money do a camp ground. That was how I had my first two or three Amsterdam experiences, even in the winter)
Cooking for yourselves (at least some of the meals)
Booking flights early

Also, look for cheap tickets to anywhere in Europe, distances are small, you can add on another short trip for relatively cheap if you plan it well (I can provide some more tips for this if anybody needs it).

BootyCrew,
Are you looking to add to any tambourine players to band for Jam in the Dam. If so I am available.

FYI- I also know about 8 cords on the guitar too.
