hey now P-towners! Barrett Martin Group is playing next Sat at the Goodfoot, I am coming down for this show and would love y'all to come boogie on down with me.

Barrett Martin is an *amazing* drummer, as soon as he starts playing this gal be up and dancing... seriously cannot sit still when he's laying down the beats. Also in this collaboration are Joe Doria on the Hammond and JC10's Jamminest Cruiser Andy Coe on geetar. So soooo good!!

Some info on the band below.... hope to see some of your smiling faces and dancing feet!!

***********

Barrett Martin was the drummer in several renowned Seattle bands including Skin Yard, Screaming Trees, Mad Season, and Tuatara. Since 2004 he has been making records as the Barrett Martin Group with an assembled cast of Seattleā€™s top jazz and rock musicians.

Barrett Martin - Drums and Congas
Dave Carter - Trumpet
Andy Coe - Guitar
Joe Doria - Hammond B3
Kevin Hudson - Bass
Ed Ulman - Trombone
Jacques Willis - Vibraphone and Congas

The "BMG" is renowned for its trance-inducing, soul-reviving, shamanic jazz performances, which can stretch up to 4 hours in length and they win over audiences everywhere when they bring the thunder to the stage. They will be releasing their 5th album, "Artifact", on May 15th 2012 through worldwide digital and CD distribution. Also produced by Jack Endino, the album continues to explore the boundaries of jazz, rock, and world music elements, creating a genre that they've come call "Heavy Jazz."

Listening to Bernie Worrell from Bear Creek 2010 right now and realized Barrett was his drummer for that show too. The guy's got chops for sure.
