I was on JC 8 and JC 10 and the food was so much better the 2nd time around...The most notable improvement was that the cafeteria did not smell like onions on JC 10 :D With that said, having some snacks in your room is definitely a good idea...

With that said, I was wondering if the cruise staff can serve hot pretzels or popcorn in the bar areas of the zebra bar/casino? I know many of us would be very appreciative if that can be arranged...

hot french fries are still the most reliable, pizza better but probably could run a biodiesel vehicle a mile per slice on the grease. they still got bacon!

depends on what you care about. they have made a concerted effort to address healthy eating and the vegetarian issues. last year they had fresh arugula in the salad bar for most of the cruise along with nuts and fresh veggies. BLISS! But the "lobster" still sucks and the buffet can get downright scary at times. You won't starve if you seek out simple food but anything outside of that is dangerous territory.

Last year they also added an 'international buffet' type thing that had a different theme each night. Everything I ate at it was awesome. The food all around certainly seemed a step up from the previous ones. In my opinion anyway. :D

complaining about the food is so 5 cruises ago

yeah the quality isn't phenomenal, temperature/age can be hit and miss depending on when you get to the buffet. that being said, the hours, selection and the lengths MSC goes to accommodate us are great. I'd rather it stay the way it is than have hundreds of extra bucks built in to the cost to have it catered by martha stewart

It's much better than it was several years ago, but don't expect it to impress you compared with normal food. The free sit-down restaurant is infinitely better than the buffet food, but it's a huge time sink in your already overbooked day. Remember you always have the perfectly-sustainable option to subsist on BBCs

The sit down dinner is awesome...I order everything and taste it all! Room service saved me...pots of coffee and a plate of meat/cheese/bread and fresh fruit...best fuel ever! my room is for sale if you decide to cruise...lost job...no $...living on my JC 11 savings fund.

It was a lot improved on JC10, see Late Night Buffet ROCKED
I hope MSC can keep it at that level. Or even kick it up a notch. I mean to 11. You know...

The food in the dining room was actually good. Buffet was definitely serviceable. I had been worried as a virgin last year after reading about the food and was very pleasantly surprised.

The foodservice on MSC went from 'nah' to 'meh' to 'kay' maybe this year will be 'yeh'.
