Four years ago Hurricane Ike slammed into Grand Turk, flattening the island and damaging 80% of its structures. This year, Positive Legacy is serving the Grand Turk community by helping to rebuild a neighborhood park. Our day of service will give us a chance to band together and make a positive contribution to the island. At 9:00am, we will meet at Positive Legacy Headquarters (deck 6 next to Zebra Bar) then travel to a community park to replant vegetation with local community members. While we work there will be a musical performance by the local high school and Bob Moog Foundation will be running Dr. Bob's SoundSchool for local youth, accompanied by Joel Cummins of Umphrey's McGee and Rich Vogel of Galactic. Beginning at 1pm we will celebrate our collaboration with local cuisine, beverages, and a community jam. Hot Buttered Rum, George Porter Jr., Jeff Coffin, Tony Hall, members of March Fourth Marching Band, Dave Watts, Garrett Sayers & Joey Porter of The Motet will all join us at the celebration’s Community Jam, playing with local musicians! This is the place to be during our day in Grand Turk!
Excursion cost is $45 per person, covering meal and transportation expenses. Remaining funds will support playground equipment to be installed in the park. Positive Legacy excursions are limited in capacity and typically sell out so reserve your spot today! To purchase tickets in advance log into your Cloud 9 reservation and select "Add on Items." Tickets numbers will be assigned per cabin, please adjust this number before purchasing.
