Now that I know the official, can someone please tell me if we have a final word on the unofficial nights?

Thanks!

Does Zebra night even count as unofficial at this point? I can't wait to show off my newest piece of zebra gear... fair warning.

I'm not even on the boat at this point..... but having this as an Unofficial Theme contender will draw me in even more strongly (as if I need an arm twisting)

Just realized the Rocker/Headbangers Ball official theme will (hopefully) fall on the first night, as Touch of Class Prom could pair nicely with some 80's hairdos and prom dresses.

Sara and I are starting to discuss:

Neverland/Peter Pan - always awesome.
Still voting Gagnam Style (See youtube link in above post)

Any other ideas???
Throw 'em out!

Aslan, you coming this year?

I think Soul Train and Zebra were already decided as the other two unofficial themes? Those are the costumes I've been working on for a couple months already anyway  There are three official themes and only five days... though as I said in some other thread on here, Soul Train could conceivably be done on the Funk Circus night.

Thanks for pointing that out about prom, NM. You're probably 100% right.

So last year, the official theme pattern went like this: yacht club, no theme, green night, no theme, mothership masquerade.

I think we did (details hazy): Yacht Rock for sail away > German Sparkle Party TOC prom, track suits, green theme, zebra night/80s cartoons, mothership masquerade.

This year, the schedule will probably be: spinal cruise, no theme, blue night, no theme, cirque du funk.

So I think it makes sense this year to do: spinal cruise (official)/prom (unofficial), soul train (unofficial), blue night (official), zebra (official-ish), cirque du funk (official).

I think the ideas of soul train and cirque du funk are different enough that the same night maybe doesn't make sense, but for some cruisers, maybe similar enough in execution that you want to put a couple nights in between them.

Just my two cents!

I love the schedule you laid out, but I don't think they will do the themes like that this year, because the port stops are on different days than they were in the past. The way you have it laid out, the two days without "official" themes are the two days we're at sea. I think they will probably have at least one of the three official theme nights on a day at sea.

Regardless of which days they work out to be, I like the idea of doing Soul Train separately and having Soul Train and Zebra Night on whichever days they don't have official themes.

I hope they don't do an official theme on sail away day, cuz I think it would be great to do Soul Train the first night, along with (I'm assuming) TOC prom :D  8)

we're not sure, but we don't think "soul train" would work w/ TOC's prom this year. we know what the prom theme is, but we're not the one's that will let that cat outta the bag :NAUGHTY: :NAUGHTY:

also we think that JC will do the themes like this regardless of ports & days at sea,,,,,,,,1st day official theme ,,2nd day unofficial,,,3rd day official,,,4th day unofficial,,,last day official,,,as to which day is what theme,,,,,this is just a guess,,,,1st day 80's rock,,,3rd day blue,,,last day circus

but its all a guess

My understanding is that Soul Train and Zebra are the two unofficial. I suspect that it will be scheduled the same as last year, with official on night 1,3,5 and unofficial on night 2,4. Zebra is always night #2, as far as I can remember. So this would be
my guess:
Mon 1/7 - Headbangers Ball (official)
Tue 1/8 - Zebra (unofficial)
Wed 1/9 - Blue Lagoon Boogaloo (official)
Thu 1/10 - Soul Train (unofficial)
Fri 1/11 - Cirque du Funk (official)

What TOC and other private clubs do is their business. Sometimes they encourage non members to participate, sometimes not.

C9 normally publish the schedule after Bear Creek. Don't ask me why but that seems to be the rules...

That's not true, for at least the last four years (since 2008) the JC schedule has come out the week before Bear Creek. Which means it will be released this week, since Bear Creek starts this Thursday. If past history holds true :)

TOC prom is for anyone and everyone that wants to be involved. Originally it was designed specifically BECAUSE there was a lack of costume on the first night. Now, JamCruise has added an extra nite of costumes and the forums have filled in the gaps ourselves with unofficial themes. Yay us!!!!

TOC prom this year is simply "prom with just a touch of class.... JUST a touch" If it does fall on the spinal tap / headbangers ball, that will work really well.....
