I know is is a what to bring thread, but I am going to give advice on what NOT to bring:

Make sure your room key/card is not inside any container/wallet/bag that is closed by a magnet. Magnets will erase the data on your key card and will cause the great inconvenience of having to go all the way down to the 5th floor in the midde of the boat to reactivate it. :WALL: This was something I found out the hard way.

See you all on the boat - I hope packing is going well for everyone :)

THIS!
(and yay now I know where to go borrow said items ;))

Haha!! Exactly what I was about to say!!

Right on the money. I'd add to that some safety pins, and loads of bobby pins for those with long hair and wig plans. I give an ninth to earplugs and a second to your passport.

Also, I am very serious about my "feel better" kit because it's a marathon, not a sprint. We always bring stomach meds -- immodium, pepto, tums, gas X etc. There's nothing worse than an upset stomach when you're trying to dance. We bring aches/pains meds like Excedrin or Aleve because dancing for 16 hours straight is hard work, stuff to help get to sleep like Valerian, and stuff like Emergen-C to put the vitamins and electrolytes back in the next morning.

If you're traveling in a couple (or not and just have big plans for meeting someone), without putting too fine a point on it, I'd plan appropriately for the fact that you're on the vacation of a lifetime and will likely be feeling amorous.

You will get Jamcruise beer huggies in your welcome pack. Not very good ones but still...

I'm bringing a hole punch to better attach key cards to lanyards (thus avoiding having to put them in the luggage tag holder, which can be tricky to work with after several beverages or in a hurry) . . . look for me, I'm a middle-aged redheaded chick, and I'll be happy to punch your card (so-to-speak)!

do you punch your drink tickets too? if so do they still take them (I'd assume yes)?
that's really why I use the luggage tag holder, cuz it can hold both keycard & tickets.

A step ladder, a Viking costume, three quarts of Makers Mark, two bags of Fritos, clogs, two butterfinger bars (large, I'll explain later) and a bunch of rubber gloves.

As I have neither (being a charter member of the I.B.T.C.), I generally keep my drink tickets in my pocket.

I find it handier to just have the key card only on the lanyard - but to each, their peach . . .
