Already done, but great advice. Worst thing is having to try and get your card reactivated while on vacation.

Don't forget to tell them ITALY as well as FL/caribbean charges. The ship is based in Italy and the ship charges originate from there.

Gotta love it. I tell the bank customer service person that we are going on a cruise and the whole bit about the Italian ship and the ports. They say to me, "Great, thanks for letting us know. Now what is the best contact number to reach you to verify the charges while you are traveling?" You can't call me fool...I'm going on a cruise!!! "I understand, what email address can we reach you at then?"

Thanks for the heads up. I called American Express and they just wanted to know the dates I was leaving and returning. They were not interested in the specific countries I was going to travel to.

You can give the credit card companies the emergency contact # for the Poesia. They can contact you, but it will cost them $9.50 per minute to make the call :D

I'd be careful with that. it wouldn't surprise me if the boat or your credit card end up charging you for those fees...

Same here, Capital One perhaps?!?! They did say if I had a problem, stolen, declined, whatever, call them collect, # on the back, outside USA #. That card isn't goin nowhere once I give it to them for my cabin charges.

Harry, was it by any chance Bank of America? Same experience here. I also explained why I can get charges from Italy when I'm not actually there. She went on to explain which Italian bank will give me the best rates when I'm there. I thanked her for the useful information. :D
