So I know that there is probably a thread about this somewhere, but I'm really curious about where everyone plans on staying. It’s hard to decide before we know where any of the venues are, but let's face it, the chances are high that we won't get much clarification on that before it's time to book. So if you had to choose today where would you go?

Rebecca and I talked about this a little yesterday. We're going to stick with a Standard Balcony and were thinking probably Deck 13 in the middle where the Cat 6 cabins are. We like the upper decks on the boat and don't want to pay an extra $200+ each for a bigger cabin which, let's face it, we aren't in very often. But we really like having the balcony to hang out in when we need a break from the raging.

Nothing set in stone yet, but that was our thinking last night when we first had a chance to talk about it. What about you Hillary?

this... the only real question for me is front or back. first 4 cruises i went for the back of the boat, but decided the past 2 that the front made more sense for the venues. now i dont know again.

eta: no interior quads in the middle

we usually prefer near the front elevators for ease of access to the theater, pool deck, and zebra bar. We've been doing interior for a few years but think we might go for a balcony this year. Which is kinda sucky because all the cat 6 balconies are in the rear. =P

knowing where the venues are would be a huge help. =/

My post in another thread.

We are thinking the Ocho. Our guess is the black and white bar will be the jam room. We like to be near it as it's the last stop every morning. That's on deck 7 in the back. The CAT 1 cabins on 8 near the middle elevators look good to me. Those elevators go all the way up to the pool deck.

Near center of boat to split the distance to all the venues.
Near the Jam Room.
Near elevatores that go all the way up.
Cheapest doubles.
Not as close to the engines.

I'm only telling you guys this because my booking time if so early :D Otherwise I would wait until I was already booked to tell you.

I was wondering why those aft facing balconies on 13 were only Cat 6. Makes sense now. Why did they even bother putting chairs there?

Ooof. Why would they do that? This thread is interesting. http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/sh ... ?t=1732552

One person says the Cat 6 cabins on the sides of deck 13 have the larger balconies, but I'm not sure I trust that. It would be nice if we could get a square footage number on the different balcony categories, but on the site it says they are all 42 sq ft which is obviously not true.

The cat 6 on 13 has the smaller balcony if you call it that - we confirmed with C9.

Here's a good link to see the rooms on the boat:

http://www.icruise.com/cabins/msc-italian-cruises-cruises-msc-divina-cabin-13012.html

You can also just type in MSC Divina room xxxxx into google search and it'll pull it up as well.

are there any other rooms/categories that also have the small balcony? ie., is cat 6 on 12 a normal size?

a quick check through the decks seems to indicate all the cat 6's have those small balconies. it all makes sense now. :P
