I know someone out there knows or knows how to find out.

Who was the cellist that played with Claypool on JC7? I've been listening to a lot of cello and instrumental string music lately and I would love to hear more of this guy. That performance on the pool deck blew me away and opened my ears to what a cello can do with the right musician.

That pool deck set is still one of my most favorite JC sets ever. :) I believe the cello player was Sam Base. Good name for him, eh?

In case you are still looking for Chello music check out Ben Sollee. He is in The Sparrow Quartet with Abigail Washburn, Bela Fleck, and Casey Driessen. Ben's solo work is amazing. Learning to Bend is one of my favorite albums.

Also, Helen Gillet! NOLA jazz Chello.
