Hello Everyone!

I work for Music Masters Camps based out of upstate New York, and I'm really stoked and honored to be working with Victor Wooten, Butch Trucks, Col. Bruce Hampton, Luther & Cody Dickinson, Kofi Burbridge & Cloud 9 on this very special project! I'd like to start a conversation with you about the program, any questions or ideas, what your expectations of the program are, and if you plan on participating. I look forward to meeting you!

I'm happy to report this will be my fourth JC in a row! I can already feel the fuzzy goodness of the Robe!

Would it be a waste of time/money if you don't play a instrument?

I need to bring my instrument right? Electric or acoustic, does it matter?

Hi Collins,

Masters Camp at Sea is definitely NOT a waste of your time or money, even if you don't play an instrument. These six Artists are getting together for the first time to teach, share, and perform. All kinds of magic will unfold from these collaborations. There will plenty of opportunities learn about their histories, their passions, and above all, you'll have access to very intimate, one of a kind live performances. We design these camps to accommodate all walks of musical life. From the fan, to the beginner musician, to the professional, everyone will take away something special from this experience.

Hi kidadam,

It depends on your instrument(s) of choice. For guitarists, we ask that you bring your axe. Electric and acoustic are both welcome!

I think Adam wants to bring his drums. This bad boy will be easier to pack then the acoustic.

YEAH!!! I'm signed up and SO excited about this program! Not sure if I'm going to bring a guitar or not, as I worry about flying with it. My goal for the program is a very vague "learn something new" which I have no doubt will be accomplished :D I adore the work of every one of the instructors, so I would love to spend my days hearing their stories, and their music, and their stories about music, and... you get the idea. I have horribly crippling stage fright and never (rarely) actually play anything in front of other people, so I wont be participating in open jams if they happen  but I sure do want to hear the instructors and other students jam, and soak up more musical knowledge and inspiration!

... OK and maybe a slide lesson from Luther ♥ yeah, that's what I want out of this, it would be the icing on the awesome (if I could stop being nervous and tongue tied and starstruck long enough to focus on the lesson)!

HA wiseguy, no, liquid courage would defeat the purpose as I wouldn't remember the lesson! :-P

Hello Full Moon,

I've got a question for you, this is gonna be are first jc and we really can't wait :D

I booked the Master Camp for me, I'm a guitar player, my wife is a drummer but she won't be taking lessons but she can attend all the workshops allong with me without actually playing, right ?

I will not bring one of my own guitar because we are flying in from Belgium, so I thougt maybe I could rent one in Miami, do you now a place where I can go for that.

What I hope is that other jc artists will drop to give some insight on there playing or just jam with the amazing teacher line up. George Porter Jr, Anders Osborne are always welcome in the mastercamp

Thank you for mastercamp at sea :)

Tom & Carla

Hi Full Moon,

I hope you are checking the boards. I just found out I might have the opportunity to come on JC12 and the Masters Camp is a real draw - something I was def missing from my first JC experience. I play bass. Questions:
-Are there still spots open for Masters Camp? What is the cutoff?
-Will there be basses to borrow?
-Please tell me I won't have to bring my rig - Will there be amps available?

Flying from out of the country I find airlines are tough on bringing instruments. I am hoping to at least bring a mini acoustic guitar, but really want to be able to participate on bass for obvious reasons. Your reply will help me decide whether to book.

Thanks!!

Kirsten
