Just wondering what people's plans are while in Cozumel?

I know some folks are playing kickball.

I was told we should rent a taxi and have them take us on 3 hour tour of island for like $100. Stop to swim, lay on beach, eat lunch, visit ruins, etc all included.

Was told NOT to rent a scooter. I heard it's dangerous there and a few people have died recently getting clipped.

Don't really need to do the cookie cutter excursion (zip line, snorkle trip, tequilla factory). But we would not mind some beach time, some drinks, maybe snorkeling right on beach if that exists.

Anyone heard of any cool resorts/clubs to take a taxi too and hang out all day?

This might be what we do - take a little taxi tour to a few cool things, bars, beaches, etc

8 of us hired a van for 5 hrs. Going to the east side to the beach, beach bars, tequila farm, chocolate store and basically wherever we want to go. It only ends up about $40 a person!

We are leaning towards that. Grab a taxi for 5 hours for $100 -- cruise around to the ruins, beaches, snorkling, some good local seafood joints.
