I'm looking for music related TV and movies to put in our video queue, anyone got suggestions? I'm open to anything from biography's/truth based (Get On Up, Killing Bono?), musicals (Mama Mia Dr Horrible!), to TV shows (Treme, Mozart in the Jungle).

Help entertain me!! :P

I guess it would require a current HBO subscription, but they just premiered a new show "Vinyl". It's set in the mid 70's and based on a fictional record label. I've watched the first hour and it has some promise, but the jury's still out...

Here's a few music related movies off the top of my head....
Festival Express
Electric Apricot Quest for Festeroo
The Last Waltz
It Might Get Loud
Rattle and Hum

The only TV show I could think of was Treme, but I'll ask Lew and he may have a few suggestions up his sleeve...

grin, I'll keep an eye out for that one. Festival Express was one of the first ones that came to mind, great movie (I forget which jam cruiser originally suggested it, but I know it was someone here. I'm hoping for more gems like that that I would not have otherwise come across. I'll have to make a big list/summary once I've gotten a few more. Some others that have been suggested are:

BB King: The Life of Riley
Who the F is Arthur Fogel
Inside Llewyn Davis
A Band Called Death

Just watched Jaco: The Film on Netflix. A great documentary, lots of unseen footage and pictures of his early life
