River Retreat
Shimon Presents, Inc. is proud to announce The First Annual South East Music Retreat which is to take place the weekend of June 6-8 at The Spirit of The Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. This is an event designed for the fans and the bands, bringing together some of the freshest talent in the South East. Friday and Saturday nights the fans will enjoy shows indoors on two stages. Music will be out by the River during the day both Saturday and Sunday.
This is an event for the bands as well as the fans. The South East has an incredible music scene growing. This event hopes to unite the bands and fans in ways that will hopefully help this scene continue to grow. These bands have been playing to many of the same venues and fans, now it's time for it all to come together. The South East Dialogues Brunch for the bands will take place both Saturday and Sunday morning with a panel discussion on topics such as "Is it the music, marketing, or magic?" Musicians such as Rev. Jeff Mosier and Col. Bruce Hampton will be there to help answer some questions that the younger bands might have about the business. Bands can talk to each other about the places they are playing, and what has been working for them in terms of growth as a band. Hopefully, they will leave with more drive and excitement; which will help push them to that next level!
There will be many activities going on during the day. An early morning Yoga session will take place. A Macabi game (like a color war) will take place where the fans are part of 4 different groups (different color wristband) and have all sorts of activities to participate in. Activities include: egg tosses, canoe races, swimming races, kick ball, ultimate frisbee, and much much more. The "team" with the most points will win a grand prize (tickets to the next year's event).
All the bands have been confirmed and promotional plans are underway. We will be launching our new website (beta version) in the next few days, please keep an eye out for it. Any and all help with this event will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to get in touch with us anytime through email (
info@shimonpresents.com) or phone 850-574-9976.
All the best to you,
-Seth D. Weiner
