Call me crazy, but I think Bueler is on to something. Keep it up dude.
Everyone should stop being so negative, lets hear this one out. I am thinking I will have content for my brain all weekend.
I (and others I'm sure) couldn't care less what kind of fundraiser is being attempted here...I simply can't get past Buehlerhead's original statement of:
"There will be a drum circle everyday we leave an island as the sun sets.
It will be boatwide-So Everyone bring your drum"
This idea sucks...nobody want to hear a bunch of subpar hand drummers trying to stay in rythym with each other on the cruise. I've been attending and/or working music festivals for almost 20 years and 98% of the amateur drum circles I've heard suck, have horrible rythym and are extremely annoying.
Then this:
"I am glad you paid to see others play-But if you dont take the chance to bring your own instrument to play on the beach or on your own time- You will be tormented"
Huh? really? How....please explain...hahahaha!
Then this:
Who the hell would pay $1,300 not to play with some of the musicians here"
99% of the people on the boat! and do you seriously think the musicians WANT to play with amatuer hand drummers
And last but not least:
"If you cant figure out where to go to not disturb anyone than you are a tool"
Sorry dude...but you sound like the tool making that statement! As much as you want to believe that you can have a full on drum circle on a floating hotel without pissing people off you are very naive or simply very inconsiderate.
And as much as you want to believe that there is a reasonable amount of passengers on the boat who want to hear a bunch of amatuers banging away on Djembe's impromptu style.....there isn't.....trust me.
Sorry heady dude....no matter how you slice it....if you start drum circles on the boat it's gonna piss people off and you stand a good chance of having someone throw your drum overboard.
Now if you want to get off the boat and do it on a beach @ one of the touristy ports....go drum until your hearts content....or until some agro guy trying to relax on the beach on his only yearly vacation decides he wants to slam your drum over your head because you're driving him crazy
There is nothing heady about invading people's audible space without any regards to how they feel about your iccesant heady (or not so heady) ragin' beats!
