Wicked evil game.

Never really heard/retained any details about the JC9 game.

Where was it held ? I think it was in a card room or casino ? [a layer of the onion I haven't gotten to yet]

Is it a money game or prizes ? If money, what does it cost to join ?

Is there a time limit or last man standing ? I've heard of tournaments going on and on.

What time of day did it start and end ?

Ivan plays. How long did he last ? Who won ? And won what ?

I tried the search function. Only came up with four posts announcing it.

It's gotta be a blast for those that are into it ! I'll likely join in this time as a 'sacrificial lamb'.

[edit: Changed title to include Funky Bingo]

i don't know anything about it really but i remember last year i saw ivan right after he lost i think it might have been down to him and the winner but not sure.
i would really like to take part in this but i have a feeling there will be more than one band i wanna see at that time so i will most likely pass. music is way more important than playing a card game

Agreed TEPS86. I thought it might be during more of a "lull". You made me look at the JC9 onboard schedule that came with the Goodies Bag. There it was all along:

TX Hold'em - First day at sea. 8PM ~ 11PM. Opposite Galactic, JC Wedding, Nathan Moore, ALO, Bob Weir, RO Party.

Serious game. $50 buy in. I vaguely remember the jackpot in the ballpark of paying for a JC ticket? Woo Hoo !

Funky Bingo was the last day at sea. 2PM ~ 3PM. Opposite ALO and Autograph Signings. Boozy scored Floydfest tix !

Since I've never played TX Hold'em against humans, Bingo sounds like the safer bet !

Anyone have stories about either event ?

mindy & i are real poker players. with that said, we did the tourny back on jc6 i think {warren was on da boat}, anyway, its not played serious, its played 4 fun. speaking as a poker player, who understands pot odds, implied odds & such, this game will make u mad. after payin' $2,500 2 b on da boat, it was a waste of good music time. this is a game 4 those that just wanna have fun, take krazy chances. we have never played w/ more donkeys. everyone had fun except 4 the real players.

it is fun, we just wanted you to hear from some players.

Played on JC7. Got down to 4 of us and we decided to chop the winnings 4 ways ($600 each or so). Paid for me and the wife's bar tab. Great little bonus. It did take a few hours and we did miss some music, but, it seemed to be worth it to me. It wasn't as bad as LIRR made it out to be. Yes there were some donkey moves, but, for the most part it went like every other poker tourney I've played. If you are in the right spot to get lucky, it happens. Had fun. Would do it again.
