Hello all!~

so we're getting close now, and I realize that we do not have any unofficial theme nights set in stone, or so it seems. Also, I'm not really clear when the "official" theme nights are scheduled for. Denny and I were chatting last night at dinner, and since I love this kind of thing, and I'm good at it, ((and my roommate is both amazing and equipped to do this sort of brainstorming... and we live together... and she's coming as a virgin))... let's start to make it happen.

First of all, I'd love some clarity on which nights the "officials" are scheduled for, and in what order.
Second, is the T.O.C. prom definitely "German Sparkle Party" themed, and does it, or does it not coincide with the Yacht Club sail away? If it conflicts, are we open to holding it the 2nd night? Or is it always the first night? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I do want to maximize the costuming opportunity.

A couple of suggestions:
~Alice in Wonderland (with or without a seperate "Mad Hatters" theme......)
~Capes and Bling
~Pirates and Mermaids
~Cats and Dogs/Furry Friends
~Apron party :)
~Cereal Box Characters
~YOUR SUGGESTIONS WELCOME!~!!!

((trying to keep it super simple, as that leaves a lot of room open for creativity..... but I am open to any and all suggestions, and help organizing!))

Also, do we have an official forum party scheduled yet?

First of all, I'd love some clarity on which nights the "officials" are scheduled for, and in what order.

There are three official theme nights (out of five nights on board). They have told us that the "nautical" theme night will be sail away day (Mon). They have not told us when the others will be, but traditionally the official theme nights have been the nights of days at sea (Tues and Fri this year).

someone in TOC will have to answer this, I've heard conflicting reports.

Zebra night has been mentioned more than once. With the three "official" nights, assuming that they follow past pattern and hold those on days at sea, we have Wed and Thurs night open for TOC Sparkly Party Prom, Zebra and/or whatever other unofficial theme is desired.

Not that I'm aware of, but in the past it has been the afternoon of the first day at sea. It tends to get scheduled after the schedule is released.

Cosumes and Parties and Music and Friends!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Cereal box characters.
Epic idea.

Mermaids and pirates I think is being covered under the "Anything and everything Nautical" theme night, which is night #1. At least that's when I'm busting out my mermaid pirate costume!

cool. thanks for the feedback all (and the clarification, Ananda :)

I have not been on the last two years, but I heard that there was a zebra night last year... is this true?

I'll definitely bust the mermaid/narwhal/whatevs on night one then, and pass the info on to my roommate.

Cereal box characters is pretty awesome and open, because you can basically be any sort of animal, and just add an outfit... or many other array of characters (Vampires = Count Chocula, Cop Guys = Cookie Crisp, Ghost = Booberry, etc.)

I was just hoping that the T.O.C prom doesn't fall on the same night as the sail-away, so I don't have to compromise any costumes.

Also, I'm all about being the Jam Cruise cheerleader. I've already got an outfit ;)

I was told that the prom is keeping it's traditional prom night and the gsp will take place at night on the first night. Part of the TOC prom has always been to bring entertainment on nights without themes but the first night is a tradition and after long soaks in a hottub at a TOC retreat, the majority rule was. First night.

Considering that german sparkle party is all about turning the nerds into freaks it is only appropriate to rage gsp and see how many yacht club preppies can be converted over the course of the evening

Wear your preppy nautical outfits for sail away and convert to the madness or not....

Summit meeting in the hot tub resulted in a vote by the board. Prom is first night, period. We're on a boat, every night is Yacht Club.

I'm still going to start a zebra theme night thread once the schedule is released. I'll be dressed in zebra one night, I'd love to see the zebra bar full of zebras again, but if I'm a lone zebra, I'll still have a blast.
