With a little jaunt to the msc website you will find there is a 6 day window from January 7 - 12th 2013 that is empty for the Poesia... that would be a perfect fit for JC11.
What say you?

I don't think we'll be on the same ship next year.

Or maybe I should say I hope we're not on the same ship yet again next year. I don't have any 'inside info'

Poesia is the only ship that comes to the states right now.

The dates on MSC's site are flexible and they change depending on people like us chartering the ship for an event. I think I remember this coming up last year when we were guessing dates, and it changed.

I found myself wishing for a new ship next year as well. Cant even really say why. Our cabin was smelly and trashed when we got there, (i get why, they had holly ship running late and a too quick turn around) and they offered to come in and clean but said that the linens were new and could we wait till tomorrow morning for a cleaning. Still remnants of the last folks in the cabin, and not nice ones either. So arriving to that kind of took the magic moment down a bit and may be why we were kind of missing the old new poesia. No big deal in the scheme of things, but it did make me long for days past when the ship had that sparkle and shine and "new ship smell" haha. Cabin condition aside, I tipped our porter well first thing and asked if we might get robes and some ice. He nicely and quickly did that and was very pleasant for the cruise. But overall, as someone else mentioned in another thread, I think that the staff is over their love affair with us, too. Didn't feel the same connection as in years past. Sorry for all of the stuff that has nothing to do with dates!!
I agree, that would be a great window. It was easier for us a bit farther from new years.

Looks like either way we will port out of Miami if on MSC? Does that sound right?

MSC will move there homeport to Port Miami in the fall of 2013 pending Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approval according to Cruise Industry News. The Poesia has been, is currently and is scheduled to be the only MSC fleet vessel to operate in the Carribean. If we stay with MSC the Poesia it will be. IMO

The MSC Divina is scheduled to be launced later this year, and will probably be assigned to the Carribean...

MSC Divina is scheduled to sail in the Mediterranean May-October 2012, after that MSC doesn't tell what this ship is going to do.

I heard from numerous people, staff from MSC that we will be on Poesia next year and indeed be on Divina in 2014 for sure. They said the boat holds 4000 or someting like that. A new boat will be nice , but more people mean more douchebags as some have said also.

oh geez the new Divina is much larger (around 25%), I hated the jump up to the Poesia because of the size and the inability to find friends for days.

How many of you found friends going throught customs after the cruise and did not realized they were on the ship the whole time?

Either way, I am over the Poesia because of the smell alone. The sewage smell was strong along many hallways the entire cruise.

The MSC people do seem a bit 'over us' on this ship as well...

I heard the other ships have other animals prints in their lounges? :) Make sure to let us know so we can get the Zebra outfits replaced :)

If it's Jan 7-12, a no brainer (even though I keep saying I'm taking a year off), works with my work schedule. Earlier, ehhhhh, but I don't think it will be earlier.
