Collins........Thanks for the 411 on the the complex @ 'Mardi Gras World'. Again, I realize the STS9 show is an evening with "SECTOR 9" a homage to their old-school fans and old-school catalogue. From what I understand, some of the "GSC" lights and props will be traveling down to NOLA for the show..

Any hoot , I hope you get a " "Nautilus" and/or "Dance."

Holy shit it's expensive to fly to NOLA. I was seriously considering trying to pop in for a weekend but I need to win a lottery first! Have fun. Jazz Fest is still on my bucket list.

Flights get expensive fast for this time of the year, especially for the days around the two weekends. If you want to do JF, either choose one weekend and book your flights early (as in Nov / Dec), or do it like me and get the cheap flights Saturday through Saturday.

In the end you can't go wrong either way, since the getting is good every night of the week.

I don't think there is such a thing as a cheap flight to NOLA... I've never seen a rt flight from DC cost less than $300, and usually not less than $400. I can usually get flights to FL, CA, NY, etc from DC for less than $200, often for $100 or less. I could visit Knut in San Diego cheaper than I can go to NOLA, 9 days out of 10. but the music there sucks (other than listening to Knut play) ;)

But I guess all you really need to do is get there, the rest is guaranteed to be fun. Kinda like Jam Cruise :D

Well, I kind of agree in that I have never seen any really cheap flights to NOLA, but I paid under 240 round trip including taxes and fees for my flight to jazz fest this year. Direct flight from DCA, reasonable travel times, can't really complain about that.

You're going all out again, aren't you?

Vegas > Nola.

Don't tell me you're flying to Amsterdam from there, or something...

I wish. This year it is not gonna be fun. The trade show is AFTER not before Jazzfest. I fly out of NOLA on Sunday at 9am straight to four days of schmoozing with middle aged men in golf shirts.
