It's been three weeks since the dates/ports/ship/lineup announcement... Am I the only one that JUST noticed they've changed our typical itinerary of the past few years?
instead of: embark > atsea > port > port > atsea > disembark
this year is: embark > atsea > port > atsea > port > disembark

I'm not sure if I'll like this better or not, but change needs to be pointed out and discussed! ;)
whatever the itinerary, I'm sure the voyage will be magical, as always

Huh. Didn't notice that (or didn't pay attention enough to think about ramifications) but yeah, that changes things up a bit. Not sure whether for the better or not - I'd rather have a 6th day and do

Embark > at sea > port > at sea > port > at sea > disembark.

I think the full day at sea on the way home wraps it up nicely. I think this year will seem like it ends too fast.

I am optimistic. I think it suits Coco Cay. People can easily chose: to catch up on sleep/pack, or, the island looks relaxing also.
This turns thurs into that monster day that everybody will need to recover from !
After everybody's recharged, the last night will not have suffered any set back, and we turn that mutha out.

It hurts how bad I want a sixth day.

Aside from the dates, that is one of the first things I noticed. I love the idea! Ports are a great time to catch much needed rest and who needs to rest two days in a row? I agree with Bruce in that I will be in much better shape for the all important last night.
Also, this arrangement allows me and my fellow 110'ers to enjoy another full 24 hrs of our bday at sea for the best birthday party ever!

Is Coco Cay where Holy Ship went last year?

edited to add: got off lazy arse and did some searching, looks like it wasn't the same island.

I'm torn. The last full day at sea is usually one of the best days, the true ragers finishing strong and watching people crash and burn are equally amusing to me.

Is it confirmed that we'll get a concert on the beach that last day? That would be spectacular.

Yes. That was nicely announced along with the ports.

"Day 5
Coco Cay, Bahamas:
Dance with your toes in the sand at our concert beach party on the secluded private island of Coco Cay."

I say move the show over to the concessions area. The sound should carry well. There's more shade and seating available. The bar is right there ! And restrooms.

Or,

Go full Metalocalypse. Bring all the PA's to the deck of the Poesia and face towards the Island, turn everything up to eleven...

I didnt notice this at all but was totally wondering about this when i looked at the ports on the map. I thought to myself "thats way too close for a full day at sea... what are we gonna do, drive around in circles??" never thought to look at the itinerary.

I think i like the change.

We noticed the change thanks to Bruce who has been sharing great details about JC 11 on the forum.

We like the change because after the full day at sea and night, we can have a rest during the port. Because Coco Cay is a tender port, it is going to take an extremely spectacular act to get us off the boat - but even if we do, we plan to chill on beach chairs, etc.... Then we can go into the last night after getting some rest. I just hope that we won't be seeing the port too early during the last night, though...

A 6th day would be AWESOME!!!!!

With ya on this one Denny. Although I didn't notice the dates and stops (I don't even have a cabin yet!!) I don't like back to back ports all that much. 2 days of rest in a row, nope! All night rager>rest/beach day>rager the last night = FTW!!!!!

I'm still waiting for a nonstop days at sea cruise. Of course we'll need a supply boat in tow to keep the chocolate milk stocked for LHF.

Seriously! Sail out into international waters, maybe someplace with a view of something, or vast open sea, drop the anchor, and let us hang out for a few days. Think of the huge reduction in our carbon footprint.

I like your thinkin stASH, and I thought it as well as prolly said it too. But the ships gain stability when in motion. Anyone who has a difficult time with seasickness now would really be hurting once the ship was at rest and moving to the motion of the ocean.

Love the idea of reducing the carbon foot print though.
