I got this email from Furthur today...
10 days later but they are doing the tropics thing...

"Furthur invites you to Paradise Waits - a four-night tropical concert adventure in Riviera Maya, Mexico taking place January 20-24, 2014 featuring former Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh & Bob Weir!

Fans can expect Lesh & Weir to push the musical envelope with four shows over four nights of jaw-dropping improvisations and loving renditions of Grateful Dead classics, with an all-star band that includes keyboardist Jeff Chimenti (RatDog), drummer Joe Russo (Benevento - Russo Duo, Trey Anastasio), guitarist John Kadlecik (Dark Star Orchestra), and vocalists Sunshine Becker and Jeff Pehrson.

This musical adventure includes a 4-night stay at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, 4 nights of Furthur just steps away from your room, daily activities, opportunities to explore the region, and all the magic that comes from being on vacation in an intimate setting with 2,500 like-minded people. Days are for sleeping in, lounging by the sea, going to the spa, doing yoga, gathering for a tequila tasting, going fishing, and more. By night, let there be songs to fill the air for four nights as we go a little bit Furthur than we've gone before… Paradise Waits in Mexico! "

That's certainly what I'm hoping for. :D Did you notice it was a Cloud9 production?

Does anyone know if it will be only Further fans? Or will we be mixed in with other guests?

I think I was being confusing. I should have said, "Will the hotel be taken over by us freaks, or will there be unsuspecting guests there, too?" LOL.

There wasn't any non-widespread fans at panic-in-the playa so I think they book the whole place but if you're looking for a similar vibe as jamcruise it will definitely not even come close. The Hard Rock grounds are MASSIVE and you'll rarely see anyone you know unless there's music onstage.

From today's email :

Please note that all guests staying at Hard Rock Riviera Maya will be there for Paradise Waits - outside guests will not be permitted, and reservations must be booked online or over the phone through Cloud 9 Adventures Travel Team.

but did you ever doubt it?
