I am named by my parents after August West in the song Wharf Rat and my middle name is Dupree as in Dupree's Diamond Blues. Good thing I grew up to like the Grateful Dead or it would really suck to be me.

My nickname is fairly new as it was given to me at Bonnaroo '02 as I split up from my friends at Umphrey McGee to go grab a close spot for Les Claypool.

After Umphreys they came looking for me in the mass of people shouting my name. They got tired yelling "Aaron" and coming up w/ false hits on other Aarons answering and started calling out "Double A" cause I'm surely to answer a name I was never called again...

They never found me and as I wandered back to camp after Widespread I was greeted w/ a joyous "Double A!". Turns out they were right by me, and I actually heard them yell Double A but I didn't know it was me (or them yelling it). We laughed all weekend about it...and it stuck.

Everyone calls me Double A now, even my Mom. My 3 year old Nephew even calls me Uncle A!! hahhaa

Well, despite a complete lack of talent, for the past year or so I've been attempting to learn to play guitar. And though I like electric guitar music, I've chosen to learn on a classical, nylon string guitar. I figure, if I'm going to have any success at all, I better be as disciplined as possible up front. So, as opposed to heavy metal, I call my music heavy nylon.

Well my name is Maria, everyone calls me Ria... and then the 3934 was the address of the house I grew up in... LOVED that place..... hence, Ria3934 :D
