Girls asks, "Is that cuz everyone is drinking Heinekin?"
Guy snorts and says, "yeah-I bet that's it."

was walking with a friend ben, one of the security guys who i know from boulder, and he stopped to mediate a verbal spat between a couple in the hallway. the girl was almost in tears and getting feisty and the guy was trying to blow her off so the situation needed to be diffused and ben stepped in.

he asks what's going on, the girl states her grievance (some complaint about pills they bought at port that he wasn't giving her) and the guy replies:

"she's fucking crazy man, take her away and put her in the brig!"

never fun to watch a couple fight, but hearing dude bust out some ship lingo in the middle of it was classic.

it's a nautical term you hear in the movies and such...i googled it to be sure i heard/repeated that correctly, which confused me even more because wikipedia says a brig is a two-sailed type of ship...however the merriam-webster online dictionary came through for me with the other definition of brig:

Main Entry:
brig
Function:
noun
Etymology:
probably from brig
Date:
1832

1 : a place (as on a ship) for temporary confinement of offenders in the United States Navy 2 : guardhouse , prison

also, with a little more searching, i found "put him in the brig" is a lyric from the sea shanty "drunken sailor".
